Peter's Honey rooted cutting from my mother tree in a 4x9 treepot. This green honey fig ripens in mid-September for me in zone 7a, producing a heavy crop of yellow-green figs, which if allowed to hang long enough develop dark sugar spots and ooze honey. The flavor is honey sweet, very pleasant. Nice vigorous grower. Overwinters in-ground with protection.
This plant has has been grown indoors and so will need to be acclimated gradually to outdoor temperatures and sunlight this spring. Exposure to direct sunlight will burn the leaves and so caution and gradual exposure will be necessary.
I have fruited this variety and it is 100% guaranteed true to type. I assume that all of my trees have at some point been exposed to FMV, although proper care and feeding prevents outward symptoms. I am JoePAFig on Ourfigs, feel free to contact me with questions. My wife and I are gardening enthusiasts and operate a small hobby nursery, Fairmount Figs, licensed and inspected by the PA Department of Agriculture.
