WE ARE A STATE-CERTIFIED, LICENSED AND USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC NURSERY!
Enjoy stunning beauty and tasty tropical-like fruits! This Superior strain we discovered from 2 patches in our local region in KY that both were producing large, egg-sized fruits of remarkably better flavor and just packed full of ripe juicy pulp. I have been foraging for these fruits since the early 2000s and most vines produce mediocre fruit. Not these! Much better quality and heavy production. Almost as good as the tropical cousins!
This is a PERENNIAL PLANT. The roots survive cold winters and resprout fresh, fruit bearing vines every year for many years. In warm (zone 8+ climates), the vines don't usually die back. They are very precocious and will usually fruit the year they are planted, if they get planted early. They sprout and grow readily.
Passionfruit vines, being hardy natives, are little touched by insects or disease of any kind, and are quite productive of fruits. The vines grow vigorously and will soon rapidly climb and create stunning ornamental cover for arbors, fences, decks, etc, making a wonderful natural screen and shade. One vine seems able to produce about 15-20 fruits per season, which is September-November.
Hardy to zone 6, maybe a little below. We have had customers in Chicago growing these successfully. Plants available March-June on our website.
3-Cell Pack of Hardy Superior Passionfruit Plants. Each plant is currently about 6" tall and growing fast! Will produce fruit this year possibly.
