This is a variety that I found here locally by an Italian immigrant that brought this tree with him when he moved over. The name just means Yellow Fig but this is how I received it.
It is reported to be common as his brother has it growing on the east coast and I can confirm this because I had some ripen without caprification but they were not as intensely red as the caprified ones.
I only have one set of cuttings available. The flavor of the deep red ones was like tart raspberry jam. It was the most like Raspberry of any varieties that I have tried. They are a gorgeous yellow contrasted by blood red interior and they have a very soft skin.
