Description

Please read: This tree is very well rooted with roots very solid. It does have some leaves with either browning or rust...I can't tell for sure which, but I have sprayed it with sulfur which should control it. My dad says it's not serious and the tree will be fine, but I want you to be aware so you won't be surprised when unboxing.

Hi Fig-bidders! Same as always, all my trees are grown from cuttings that came from my dad (fruitnut). PLEASE make sure to read my whole listing and look carefully at my pictures.

My dad's thoughts: "Ondata is a large, beautiful, grayish to black fig on a healthy tree. Fruit tastes great and seems to maintain quality late into fall. The tree has moderate vigor and big broad leaves. At times it seems spreading and compact in growth habit with short internode spacing. Fruit yield has been high and consistent. Ondata has a tight eye and has not split when it is wet and humid. Notice the picture of other varieties with big eyes and split figs. In the same conditions, Ondata has a tight eye with no splitting. This might mean that it's a good fig for humid rainy climates. But to date I haven't heard reports from growers with those conditions. I (my dad) sold thousands of fig plants over seven years. That gave me the opportunity to test hundreds of varieties. I kept the best and threw out the rest. After all that testing I now consider Ondata to be my best overall fig."

You are buying the potted tree pictured in 3-5 photos.  My trees have all been grown indoors under grow lights, so they will need to be slowly acclimated to full sun.

Please don't purchase my plants if you are concerned about FMV. They are probably all infected even the ones not showing symptoms.

It is possible that a tree could grow so tall that it will no longer fit in my 36 inch boxes. I do everything I can to avoid it, but if the tree is simply too tall to fit, I may have to trim it. I will only do this if absolutely necessary. Please note trimming the tree doesn't hurt it.  Also, I sometimes I trim a few leaves from the bottom of the tree, so that it uses less water on its travels to you and can withstand more time in the box.

I ship on MONDAYS ONLY (maybe Tuesday if you are near me) because I have trouble with trees getting delayed over the weekend. Please pay for any item you purchase by Sunday night, so I can get it shipped on Monday. If the weather is too hot or too cold, I may delay shipping for a week. I ship using Paypal shipping. PayPal will send you an email including tracking information when I print out the shipping label. You may need to change your settings in PayPal in order to receive the tracking information. If you don't receive tracking on the day outlined above ask me for it.

PLEASE purchase the insurance offered by figbid. As a very small business, it's difficult for me to refund trees that are damaged during shipping.

If your address is a PO Box, UPS will not ship to you. It will cost extra to ship because I will have to send it via USPS and they charge more for the tall boxes I ship in. Please contact me before purchasing so we can discuss the cost of shipping to your PO Box.

MANY THANKS!!!
