The Borda Barraquer fig is a Spanish variety with historical roots on the property of Montserrat Pons, named after its mother tree located at can Barraquer, owned by Pep Feliu i Planas. This fig variety thrives in the Balearic Islands' ideal climate, contributing to a collection that boasted over 500 fig varieties. The figs are recognized for their dark purple, occasionally blue-tinted skin, symmetrical teardrop shape, and a cavity filled with dark red, jammy pulp that offers a moderately intense berry flavor with moderate sweetness. Borda Barraquer trees are highly productive, offering a main crop of medium-sized figs annually, characterized by mostly 3-lobed leaves, with some trees having 5- and single-lobed leaves
