All my figs are container grown in Wisconsin.   You are bidding on 2 dormant, unrooted cuttings of Dr. GOWATY.  Dr. GOWATY ripens early here in Wisconsin.

"A large green fig with an amber and sometimes pink-ish interior and a nice melon flavor. It resists splitting even when ripening in wet weather. It also seems to be very cold hardy, productive and FMV resistant."

Dr. Gowaty comes from my grandparents farm in Northern Alabama. The tree is over 60 years of age and is never protected during the winter. The history of this fig comes from my grandparents neighbor. Dr. Gowaty took a trip to Israel to visit family and friends in his home town. He subsequently brought back cuttings from the tree that was on his families property."

I’ve been growing and trialing figs in southwestern Wisconsin for 30 years. My focus was on container figs which will ripen in Wisconsin without a greenhouse, but now that I have an unheated hoophouse & I’ve been putting many varieties in the ground.

I run a Facebook group called NORTHERN FIG GROWERS which has 10K+ members.  I also sell cuttings of currants, grapes, elderberries, willows, kiwis and scionwood of pears and mulberries.
