2019 Find 
“Firehouse” is quite a fig.  It has a unique flavor and texture profile, that of apple pie filling with a hint of spiciness in the skin similar to a cinnamon sugar, and a berry tang finish. The thicker skin is not chewy, but still firm to bite in to. Firehouse has a mild seed, golden part of the fruit is more apple pie, and the red carries a berry tang.

Our personal taste tester, Priscilla Burke of Burke Family Farms and who is responsible for all our innovated products, has over 3 decades in the food  industry - tasting new things for her parents restaurants and then for Burke Family Farms with years in between working in the Napa valley with high end food products. 

This exquisite fig bring back memories of my childhood and my Grandma’s apple treats. They were a fluffy golden crusted treat filled with homemade apple filling from her tree in the backyard.

I personally have 12 of the trees growing because we love it so much.
