Here it is folks.  The football pool you've all been waiting for.  The 4th annual figBid Super Bowl Squares Pool to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Last year we donated a solid $1000 to St. Jude.  This year we'd like to donate a little more so this is going to be the biggest pool yet!  All money collected will pay for prizes and a $1500 donation to St. Jude.  To help accomplish the donation amount, figBid has secured very high-end rooting material from some of the finest collections in the US including Harvey Correia of Figaholics, Brian Melton of CalFig, Dave Serrichio, Danny Gentile of figBid.com, Ross Raddi, Amy Kinsey, Karla Oz of GardenCrochet Fig Orchard, Dan Foster, and Eric Durtschi.  figBid continues to source material and this list and the prizes listed below may grow.  Click here if you would like to donate additional prizes to the Super Bowl pool.

Players can begin picking and paying for their squares right now.  You must pay when you pick.  Each square costs $25. Please use any of the links on this page to pay for your Super Bowl square and do not pay me directly.  Click Here To Purchase Your Square Now.  After clicking the link you can change the dollar amount to make it easier for purchasing multiple squares.  Very important: Please let me know what square number(s) you want in the note section of the PayPal payment.  An empty square on the grid indicates the square is available.  A square with a big red X indicates the square is sold.  I'll update the grid with sold squares several times throughout each day until all squares are sold out.  Please be aware that squares get scooped up quickly so it will be first-come, first-served through PayPal only.  It's not uncommon that two players will request the same square before the square is filled.  A good idea is to give me a first and second choice of available numbers, especially when the box starts getting filled up.  The rules are simple:

• These are the basic rules and $2000 in prizes are guaranteed as described below.  Guaranteed prizes will never decrease but may increase at any time before the Super Bowl is played.  Any amendments for additional prizes will be listed here.  See the section for prize donations below.
• Each square costs $25 and must be paid through PayPal by clicking any link on this page.  No other forms of payment will be accepted.  Thank you for understanding.
• No squares will be saved.  You must pay to pick a square.  There are no exceptions.  
• The squares are numbered 1 through 100.  After paying you'll pick an empty square and you'll become the owner of that square.
• You are allowed to buy multiple squares but there are only one name and one winner allowed per square.  If you'd like to partner with someone please buy 2 or more squares.  No exceptions.
• If two or more players request the same square, the owner of the square will be the player who paid for the square first as determined by the time-stamp on the PayPal payment, and, entered the available square number in the note section of PayPal.
• Once the grid is complete and all of the squares have been filled numbers will be randomly picked and assigned, 0-9 on the columns (top) for AFC and rows (side) for NFC.  In the last 3 seasons, we did a Facebook Live event for the number selection and it worked out well.  Will probably do the same for this season and notification of the event will shortly follow the time when all squares are sold-out.
• When the Super Bowl is played, guaranteed winners will be determined:
  • at the end of the 1st quarter
  • at Half-Time
  • at the end of the 3rd quarter
  • by the Final Game score 
• The winner of each prize is determined by looking at the last number in each teams' score, and then matching the square that intersects those two numbers.  For example, if the Detroit Lions were playing the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, and the score at halftime was Detroit Lions 20, and Philadelphia Eagles 10; The last number for the Lions is 0, and the last number for the Eagles is 0.  The square on the grid that intersects the Lions number 0 and Eagles number 0 would be the winner.  If the game should go longer than 4 quarters and the Final Game Score is Detroit Lions 27 and Philadelphia Eagles 24, the square on the grid that intersects the Lions number of 7 and Eagles number 4, would be the winner.  
• Additional prizes will be determined as follows:
  • When a reverse prize is available the winner of that prize will be determined by reversing the last number in each teams' score and then matching the square that intersects those two numbers.  In the example above the square on the grid that intersects the Detroit Lions 4 and Philadelphia Eagles 7 would be the reverse prize winner.
  • When a +1 prize is available the winner of that prize will be determined by adding 1 to the last number in each teams' score and then matching the square that intersects those two numbers. In the example above the square on the grid that intersects the Detroit Lions 8 and Philadelphia Eagles 5 would be the +1 prize winner.
  • There will be 2 additional automatic winners for squares that intersect the numbers 2 & 2 and 5 & 5. 
• It is not necessary to have a figBid account to play.
• Gift Certificate prizes, if available or substituted, will be eMailed to the eMail address on file with PayPal at the time of your payment.
• figBid gift certificates are good for all purchases, including shipping and/or figBid fees.  figBid gift certificates are not redeemable for cash and may not be transferred.
• When fig cuttings are offered as prizes there will be 1 cutting per variety awarded unless otherwise noted.
• figBid will forward the address of winners for all other prizes to the donors of those prizes.  Donors will be responsible for shipping and winners must coordinate with donors to ensure appropriate and timely shipping logistics.
• Open to US players only.  No international players will be accepted.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a most wonderful cause.  St. Jude's has done great things, finding cures for childhood cancer and helping families with sick children.  Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80%.  Because of donations like this, families of sick children never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food from St. Jude.  Additionally, St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, which means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of more children.  figBidders must know that donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will make all of your figs root and grow happier and healthier.  It's a fact.  Please ask the previous winners.

figBid receives a lot of emails from generous figBidders who would like to donate fig cuttings, fig trees, and other items to the Super Bowl pool.  Although I'm grateful, I've always insisted on sourcing the finest material from top sellers and paying for all prizes going through the pool.  It keeps everything fair, prizes can be guaranteed by figBid, and coordination is a little easier for me.  Last year I decided to allow others to donate additional prize material for the poo and it worked out welll.  This year I am allowing others to donate again.  Additional prize material can be in the form of fig cuttings, fig trees, growing supplies, figBid gift certificates, etc.  Additional prize material cannot be cash.  I'll ask that donors ship donated material to me.  I'll pay for shipping and upon receipt, I'll add additional prize categories.  Click here if you would like to donate additional prizes to the Super Bowl pool.  Please let me know if you wish to remain anonymous.
