Description

For sale is a Bordissot Blanca Negra fig tree.  This tree is propagated from my mother tree.  This is my last Bordissot Blanca Negra fig tree for this season.

The Bordissot Blanca Negra fig is one of the most gorgeous figs I've ever seen.  While this is not a rimada fig, it is a striped fig.  As it matures, it takes on a beautiful shade of purple.  As it approaches ripeness, it develops deep burgundy stripes, which are clearly visible in the photo.  Visually, it's a knockout.

I received my tree as a small tree grown from cutting in late April of 2019.  In its first season (2019), I grew it in a container and it was one of my most vigorous growers.  By the end of its first season in a container, it towered over me at about 8 feet tall.  While the tree was incredibly vigorous, it did not set a lot of fruit for me the first year.  However, the fruit that I did get was exceptional.  The fruit had a tight eye (not completely closed, but it was tight) and handled the rain and humidity here in coastal North Carolina very well.  It was resistant to splitting and souring.  I believe this is a good choice for growers with humid, wet summers.  I found the taste to be fantastic.

This season, I planted the tree in-ground.  It is absolutely loaded with fruit this season, so I am looking forward to a great harvest.  While it was a shy bearer its very first season, it quickly grew out of it and is now very prolific.

See the YouTube video linked for my review and taste test.
