Description

Figs have been a part of my life on and off  from the beginning, continuously now for more than 10 years. I have a small collection that I've been working with and have only sold trees to the local elderly through the newspaper. The Valentine unknown fig is one that was purchased from eBay as an unknown and has turned out to be one of my best varieties. The exterior color can range from a brown to red the interior of the fig can range from a almost translucent flesh to orange red flesh. It has a very thin skin with a very unique flavor profile it is very rich the sweetness is a clean sugar sweet it is the heaviest producer out of the varieties that I have it puts on two crops. I have always compared this one with I 258 and it's grow habits of production the only thing that I 258 has over the Valentine unknown is it's wonderful Berry flavor the Valentine just has a very unique flavor profile they average in weight from 45 to 65 grams on the main crop. I don't think this variety would do well in a hot dry climate like Arizona I believe it would do much better for those in a milder climate it seems to be fairly cold hardy I think it would work for anyone in 7a or higher for in-ground. In a couple of the pictures you will see the Valentine ukn with I -258 in the last 2 picture is the actual tree that you will receive!

The proceeds will be going to ourfig forum I myself am not a forum member that's just something I don't do online social media type things but I do believe that ourfig forum is the number one asset for fig collectors. I'm sure I have left something out so if you have any questions please feel free to contact me! one thing I need to add the reason for naming this variety the Valentine fig I received my cuttings on Valentine's day the exterior color can sometimes be red and also you never know what the interior color will be until you cut one open. I think this will be a very popular fig for a lot of growers. I've had one other fig collector here that is a form member that tried the Valentine unk and for them the Valentine was the best fig they had ever had. I want to say this form member does not have a huge collection he has a very modest collection like myself.  If you're into Berry figs this one's not for you! but if you like something that is very unique and very productive you may want to give this one a try it's an all-around exceptional fig.

winning bidder will need to go to ourfig forum to make the winning bid donation, you will then pay shipping to me. Good luck to everyone I hope you enjoy it.

Be sure and check out the cutting listings for cuttings from this variety for by now.

I would like to say thank you to Danny! for helping this old-timer get my listing going

The tree you will be receiving is the first two pictures!

This is just a little update on the tree it has already popped 4 figs and is working on the 5th one, I would recommend to the winning bidder to remove all the figs from this year and let all the energy go to the tree you will be well rewarded next year and one other thing this is the best rooted cutting I have from this variety! I'm not going to be showing up in three days with more trees from this variety this is the best that I have and donated here, I have one smaller rooted cutting and that's it besides some that are rooting now, just so you guys know this is it! I've added one new picture!
