3 Salem Dark. Cold Hardy & Productive.

This fig was introduced to the hobby by Treesofjoy.

Fruits are medium size and is brownish-purple in appearance with dark red interior. Flavor is sweet and rich with a fair amount of berry flavor plus something that seems a little hard to describe (but good). Fruit texture can be quite jammy when fully ripe.

This tree grows vigorously and produces prolifically for me here in zone 6b. Fruits were still ripening well into cool weather in late October. Seems to fit nicely with mid-west conditions.
