Description

For sale are two (2) cuttings from my Col de Dame Noir (CdDN) fig tree.  The cuttings you will receive will be approximately 6-10 inches in length and will have no less than 3 nodes.  The cuttings will come from my mother tree shown in the photos.  I will cut them fresh prior to shipping.

I have 2 Col de Dame Noir trees, and both mother trees are pictured in the photos.  Both trees were workhorses for me.  For their first season, they were very vigorous and both trees towered over me by season's end.  Production was above average.  In my humid, coastal North Carolina climate, these figs performed very well (better than Col de Dame Blanc).  They were very resistant to splitting, were resistant to humidity, had a fairly tight eye (not completely closed but fairly tight) and didn't attract ants (at least the ants native to my climate).  Overall, this variety performed very well for me, and I recommend it for humid climates.  This fig ripened for me in the middle of the season.

The flavor was very good and typical of the Col de Dame's: rich, deep burgundy pulp, very jammy, and would sometimes drip honey from the eye during dry spells.  It was a very good all-around performer for me.

See the YouTube video linked for my review and taste test.
