Grafted Plum tree FR 707

This listing is for a 25" tall FR 707 plum tree that was grafted in spring of 2018 to prunus cerasifera rootstock.  This is a standard seedling rootstock so for z6 and below I'd recommend 15-20' spacing and for z7+ 20' and well maintained.  This is a european type plum so should be pollinated by other European plums.  Unfortunately due to the size of the tree shipping cannot be combined!  Sorry, no shipping to California.  This tree is has nice roots and is ready for a larger pot or spring planting.  You will receive the tree in the picture and an embossed aluminum tree tag. This tree is a selection made by the USDA of the  ancient french Pruneau D'Agen, the workhorse prune of france.  Very rare.  Cannot be called Pruneau D'Agen in production due to protection laws.  For example, to be called Pruneau D'Agen it must be the variety Pruneau D'agen and must be produced in Agen, France.  The same way that Champagne is only truly Champagne if it is produced using specific types of grapes in Champagne, France;  in all other locations or vines used it is simply sparkling wine.  It is a recognition of food culture and the effect of the soil, air and local conditions on a final product.
