Description

I am Ross Raddi on YouTube, Facebook, OurFigs & on GrowingFruit.

Variety being offered: Italian 258 -- DOES NOT Require Pollination

This fall I have decided that I'll be offering some trees that are a great opportunity for someone that wants to skip the line to get on the roller coaster a bit faster. These are trees that were bare rooted and originally were in 7-10g sized pots. They've been with me for at least two seasons and are quite up there in age or size. Assuming you're using the right techniques, I see no reason why you can't expect quite a bit of fruit next year and more importantly from a tree that's got some age to it.

Handling Instructions: These will be shipped in a plastic bag with wet newspaper to keep the roots moist. In the meantime I am keeping them in a very cool place and some are still in the process of being bare rooted. I suggest immediately up potting your tree upon arrival into something larger than a 7g. You could however trim the roots and put it into something smaller as well. Water it in well and keep it in a cool place to continue the dormancy process that it's currently going through. Stake the trunk and feed well the following season.

Varietal Info: I258 is one of my favorite figs. A few years ago I put it in my top 3. Especially in a dry year as it can split quite easily, but if you get a good one, this fig is as good as it gets in the flavor department. Beautiful. Big. Not too late. This year one of my I258 trees ripened in early August. What else could you want?

I will ship to anywhere in the US. Just know that on rare occasions trees going into California or Hawaii can be inspected and in even rarer cases confiscated. I assume no responsibility in that scenario.

I ship on Mondays and can combine 3-4 trees for one $29.99 shipment. Thank you & feel free to ask me any questions.
