Description
You are bidding on the tree shown in the first four pictures.

Black Madeira is considered one of the best tasting figs. Properly grown the fruit does indeed live up to it's reputation. My mother plant traces back to Jon at F4F. If grown to maximize fruit quality, 3-5ft of growth is common when planted in-ground. The last photo is one yrs growth outside. The plants set fruit reliably and early in spring. If not overly vigorous there is usually a fruit at every leaf node from spring until fall even on newly grown cuttings.

The last picture is one years growth on an outdoor mother plant of Black Madeira.

I consider all the strains of BM to be the same. The picture of several strains is for illustration purposes only. The fruit varies on all of them depending on many factors.

My plants have been growing rapidly. So despite my best efforts they have outgrown my boxes. This might require cutting back the top to fit in a 24 inch box. In addition upon arrival some of the leaves will be crumpled up and bent. Upon arrival the media should be watered heavily. After that frequent watering will be necessary. Up potting soon is recommended. The plants have been in about 50% sun. So gradual acclimation to full sun is advised.

Please don't purchase my plants if you are concerned about FMV. They are probably all infected even the ones not showing symptoms. I do spray regularly with a number of recommended miticides and my plants do generally grow and fruit well.
