Noire de Barbentane

Barbentane is a village in the south of France, where this fig reigns supreme.This is a one gallon rooted cutting from my mother tree. It's a main crop only fig and does not need the wasp. It's a top five fig in my collection and is every bit as good as BM. It has a closed eye and never splits, even in pouring rain and humidity. Two years ago I did a blind tasting test at the SC/Kentucky football game tail gate. I had about a dozen named figs, BM included. These were all non fig people, and to a person they all chose Barbentane as the best tasting fig.

You are bidding on the plant shown in the 3 pictures along with pics of fruit from the mother tree. All of my plants are grown in full sun and need no acclimation. Please water it as soon as you receive it and up pot as soon as you can. This is a vigorous tree and very prolific. Although it can be grown in a container, I recommend planting this tree, so it can show off what it can do. In my zone 8 the fruit starts to mature around August 1st and continues all through the fall.
