Eve’s Black Cherry

Hello!

I am offering a very well rooted tree of Eve’s Black Cherry. This is a delicious Adriatic type fig that has become a family favorite!

I am not 100% certain that this is common. I don’t know many growers growing this variety. I do grow Smyrna varieties and every year they drop many figs, this year about 80-90% of the figs from the Smyrnas dropped. But I’ve never seen, or heard from CA friends, a single Eve’s Black Cherry drop. That’s probably not sufficient proof, but that’s the limit of my observation.

See photos for actual tree. It has been in fairly full sun and is well acclimated. 

I haven’t shipped any trees yet this year but understand that shipping costs have increased. I’ve increased my opening bid price in the hopes of not getting stuck owing money on this transaction. Once I calibrate I’ll scale appropriately.

I have a large fig collection and expect all my trees have been exposed to FMV. I am in CA but the nearest confirmed report of BFF is a 6 hour drive on the highway and I have my small trees segregated from fruiting trees just as a precaution should my fortunes change. I’m keeping very close eyes on this pest.
