Pastiliere (Baud) - 2x Fig Cuttings

Renown Old European heirloom variety. Thought to have originated from Portugal in 1690 before going to Japan and subsequently Italy and France. This strain comes from Pépinières Baud's collection in Vaison la Romaine, France. Very productive with medium size fruits. Reddish purple exterior and amber/red interior. Described as being particularly juicy with thin skin. Extreme cold hardiness and among the earliest to produce main crop. Performs well in low light environments. Common and does not require the fig wasp. Flavor profile - peaches, nectarines, fruity.

Sourced mother tree from the French Fig Farm (Fair Lawn, NJ) in 6/2020. Cuttings taken on 1/8/2022 from my in-ground tree. Cuttings photographed are the actual ones to be sent.
