Rats (or something!) girdled my prized RdS tree. This tree produced several dozen fruits for me over the past 2 years. As the saying goes, when you get handed lemons, make lemonade.
I will keep a few cuttings for myself and sell the rest here.
I got the cuttings from Harvey. As mentioned earlier, it has fruited for me and has some of the sweetest fruits of all my trees. And I have well over a 100 varieties and have fruited 40+.trees. These are easily top 3-5 for me and possibly #1 for sweetness.
Cuttings are pencil width and somewhat short. But they are high quality and the nodes are very close spaced. Rooting will work but I recommend grafting them. You will likely taste the fruit this season!
These cuttings should allow you to easily make 6+ grafted trees.
$8.00 added for priority mail shipping.
How do I have fresh cuttings this time of year? Some of my most prized trees are in my grow room all winter long. These fruited for me again! in winter after fruiting last fall. Then they went dormant in April and I put them outside where rats got in the pot and girdled the tree :(
I realize these are valuable cuttings. So I treat them accordingly. They will be soaked in a solution of Physan20 and Bordeaux to kill all possible pathogens. They will be air dried and then covered in Parafilm M prior to shipping.
Photos of cuttings coming soon.
I received some questions regarding whether these cuttings can be rooted. Of course! I personally like to graft every thing so my description was colored by that.
Photos of cuttings now added. I underestimated how thick they were.
