Description

Fruit picked underripe but obviously a high caliber fig and consistently one of the deepest- darkest red interior i have seen. Mother tree is grafted March 1 2021 on a Green Ischia and outgrew every single CDD that i have to 5 ft, even bigger than my 2nd season CDDs. Also,It fruited on every node.  Exterior color ranges dark brown/purple/green and blue/green/pink in my area. Interior has been consistently dark/blood red all of this year.

Dear Buyer,

I recommend taking the time to decide on my listing before placing a bid, i offer NO refunds, returns or exchanges.

Also, I send cuttings in a padded envelope and are enclosed within a ziplock bag, and although deemed unnecessary, i take the time to saran wrap each paid cutting for added protection.

My name is Ben De Leon, a 3rd year fig grower from Las Vegas, I’ve been in love/entranced with figs since i tasted my first fresh one. The beauty of the fruit, inside and out, the unexpected experience it brings and the challenge of growing them fascinates me to this day.

My quest to find and try the tastiest and most unique figs have lead me to amass 60+ varieties, and i feel like im just getting started here in Southern Nevada.

Dormant Cuttings cut fresh same day of shipping. White residual marks are food grade Diatomaceous Earth  i used for ants and sap beetles this year,i didnt realize DE sticks too well.

A cutting will be approx 6-9 inches and with a minimum of 3 nodes.

Direct source of the cuttings are available if interested.

Most of my trees are from figbid and from reputable and active sellers.
NO international shipping.
NO shipping to HI PR AK

I will ship on a Tuesday and will provide tracking ASAP

Thank You.

Dear Newbies,

This is a side note for new fig hobbyists about my experience so far. Propagating figs requires some skill, lots of education, trial and experience. I recommend practicing with cheap cuttings first, this is not to discourage you from bidding on the item listed but there will be a percentage of success and failure for every rooting batch.

Mine was 1st year 75% 2nd year 25% then year 3, 33 out of 37 cuttings survived.

Notice the variation of success rate was drastic every year, this is because rooting a cutting to become a tree requires a lot of consistency the first 3 months. Getting the roots to come out is easy but the challenge comes from keeping it from being stressed. When young, figs like consistency, the combination of proper heat, sunlight exposure, environment and moisture control improves success rates. There are numerous great videos online on rooting which are very helpful. I have leaned towards grafting recently  due to less “babying”. However, a 50% success rate in rooting and becoming a tree in my opinion is acceptable.

Thank you.

Please take some time deciding before placing a bid or buying my items. If buying cuttings, they will be 6-9 inches in length, taken the same day of shipping to give you the freshest possible product. the cutting will be ideal for rooting and can be grafted. i recommend following my sanitation practice upon receipt which you can find in my youtube channel here https://youtu.be/hON2k_hJ3z0?si=t4GP5n3SkgXTS6xD if buying a tree, I have uploaded pictures of it with zoomed out and with close up views. There are NO refunds, returns or exchanges. Unless the tree arrived dead. My goal is to pack the tree as best as possible and ship it to you for it to arrive as quickly as possible with as little change from the pictures. However, delayed shipping is not under my control, most trees will arrive within 3 business days and some upto 1 week. Trees may arrive stressed with some leaves dessicated and even with complete defoliation, this is from the stress from transport and NORMAL. I may even tip the tree to fit, bend branches or take leaves off to lessen stress and impact of shipping but i avoid this as much as possible and so far have not done it. If the tree arrived stressed, give it some water,in a shaded location and time to recover, please do not expose the tree to extreme light or temperatures. Recovery can go for days up to 3 weeks. The tree is well rooted and will recover and regrow leaves though leaf drop and defoliation happens rarely. If the tree arrived smashed or dead, Please send me a message right away and take as many clear pictures as possible and send them to me, pictures are required within 12 hours of receipt of the tree. Please ask me any questions that you may have. Thank you, Ben
