Rocky’s tree spent 10 years in a pot in my yard And about 7-8 years in my in-laws yard in the ground. It  has been here almost 2 decades!!

BUY IT NOW 4 THICK DORMANT CUTTINGS.

This is an UNK variety from Sciacca Scilly given to the Belleclare Nursery on LI,NY.Its UNK by name but not its history.Chris DiPaola my late friend and owner of the Belleclare Nursery.Had a friend named Rocky.Rocky was an old world Italian man.He would frequent the Belleclare Nursery just as I would do.They would chat old world living and naturally figs. The history of Rocky’s fig is as follows.Rockys grandfather migrated to America in 1897 from Sciacca Sicily.Along with whatever possessions he took on his journey. He also took his hometown heirloom family tree on the journey.Which Rocky gave to Chris DePaola. The owner of the Belleclare Nursery.A piece of his family history.I was given a rooted cutting of this variety by Chris DiPaola. It was in a four inch pot.Chris also gave me the history that I tell about this variety. At the time I received my plant. It was 3 generations old.It may well be over four or five generations old now.My original mother tree is now in the ground. In my late father in laws yard.I had this tree in a pot for 10 years in my yard.It now has been in the ground about another 7-8 years.It never gets wrapped anymore. It takes all Mother Nature throws it’s way.It never dies back to the ground. Some top wood dies back.I prune it back every year. Then it takes off again. With a name like Rocky. Its definitely one tough tree. Its a medium to large brown to black fig.A popular forum member from the Carolinas has purchased two of this variety from me.He told me of all his many varieties.Rockys tree is his most productive tree.Bad seasons and all It keeps on producing. It’s cold hardy as well and an early producer. Many other collectors have told me similar nice feedback about Rocky’s tree.I have been asked this year to list it again. You will see my original potted Rocky’s tree now in the ground in the photos taken this year. This is a Belleclare UNK variety never listed.Extremely delicious and you will fill bowls constantlyUntil the cold stops production. No splitting or souring.Rain means absolutely nothing to this variety. The cuttings are of a very nice caliber. And easy to root. The 4 cuttings in the photos are the cuttings you will receive.IF YOU WANT CUTTINGS FRESH OFF THE TREE.BEFORE IT GOES FUNNY DORMANT.I WILL BE MORE THEN WILLING TO PROVIDE THEM.I WOULD THINK THE TREE AS OF 12/7/21.STILL HAS A WAYS TO BE IN FULL DORMANCY.I should be pruning it Saturday 12/7/21.Unless it leaks lay text. Then I will wait a bit longer. This tree is like a baby who fights it’s sleep.Your cuttings will ship first class mail unless priority is requested.
