Amongst the sweetest cultivars, Kafe Te Jiate (KtJ) from Albania is one delicious fig that fig hobbyists around the world have been trying hard to get their hands on.
In Albania, KtJ is known to produce long brown figs and thus the name Kafe te Jiate. While in the equatorial tropics, KtJ is known to produce golden-yellow figs. Here the United States, KtJ produces figs similar to its native region in Albania. For those who like to enjoy dry figs, this cultivar makes for some of the finest dry figs around.
KtJ has a lovely deep honey-colored pulp with a very high Brix level that is admired by both commercial and fig hobbyists around the world. In terms of production, this cultivar produces an abundance of delicious figs. One can see from the pictures that KTJ is extremely productive and is an early-season fruiter. It also happens to be a favorite of the fig Queen. In the tropics, the figs hold up well to the frequent rain and humidity.
Up for purchase is a lovely KTJ fig cutting that can be rooted/grafted. Depending on how the auction goes, I may bundle more than 1 cutting at my discretion.
As known and recorded thus far, KtJ has generally not shown any signs of FMV. However, its good to understand that some form of FMV exposure may have occurred.
