Description

Up for auction is a rooted cutting of Black Tuscan. The plant is very healthy. You will receive the exact plant that is pictured.  My rooted cutting offerings all already have well developed root systems and can be up potted into larger containers upon receipt. Once transplanted, I suggest you place the newly planted tree in a shadier location for a week just to make sure it can recover adequately in its new environment; this is especially true if buyer is in a southern location or when the temperatures are above 80.

Black Tuscan fig variety produces amazing medium, bordering on large sized black tender skinned figs with deep red pulp that ripen to a deliciously sweet, rich, jammy berry flavor with long lasting and complex, subtly nuanced flavor notes which to me are very reminiscent of the Black Madeira / Figo Preto / Violeta family of figs which speaks very highly to just how good this fig is. Black Tuscan does very well in cooler climates that typically cannot get Black Madeira or Preto to ripen in time without spring head starts and fall extended shuffling.

My Ourfigs and F4F forum name is Fygmalion.   I’ve been growing figs most of my adult life but since 2016 it’s been a passion of mine. My goal when I began this obsession was to grow and taste as many varieties as I could, to find the best of the best tasting figs for my personal collection.  This is still true today. Black Tuscan is one of my designated keeper varieties.

You can find me on Facebook and Ourfigs fig forum.  My mature trees and rooted plants have been growing outside in direct sunlight since April 15th. All of my figs should be assumed to have been exposed in some way to FMV Fig Mosaic Virus.  When young, figs will often show more severe symptoms, but usually they grow out of this as long as good growing and fertilizing practices are in place.

I will only ship inside the continental U.S. however no shipping of live plants to California, Alaska, Hawaii or the various island territories; no international shipping, no exceptions...  I ship via USPS Priority shipping.

I will ship out orders at the earliest possible opportunity, the faster your invoice is paid, the faster I can get your plants out.   Please make sure your shipping address is current and accurate and as I only accept Paypal as payments, that your Paypal address matches your FigBid address.  Once shipped, I will provide you with the relevant package tracking information so that you can monitor shipping progress and ensure immediate receipt upon plant delivery.

Combined shipping is available automatically upon invoice with multiple purchases through FigBid within the same day.  Please wait to pay until after all of my auctions you're bidding on for the night are complete otherwise you will be charged the full shipping charge with each invoice.

All my trees have been acquired from well respected and trusted members of the fig community and I guarantee the authenticity of each variety that I offer.

Thank you for your support and happy figging!!!!!
