Hardy Chicago has long been one of the best producers for me here in zone 6b. Each summer this tree gives me lots of ripe, tasty fruits that I enjoy and gladly share with my family. I have two trees of HC and for some reason this one seems to always have better tasting fruit. Not sure why.

In spite of growing many other varieties of figs, this is still one of my favorites. Partly because the fruits have a very nice, complex, berry flavor but also because it is such a good producer of figs that get ripe plenty early enough here in my zone.

In some of the photos you will see figs from this tree that look totally uncharacteristic for this variety. The rains this past summer seemed to be "out of sync" from what is typical. This, along with other climate conditions, caused many of my dark figs to ripen to very light colors. These photos really attest to how variable figs can be in appearance due to weather conditions alone.

The fruits in my hand are indeed Hardy Chicago - which are supposed to be dark purple! The flavor was a little milder than usual but they were still quite sweet and tasty. The fruit in the second photo is more typical of this variety. You can also see in some of the pictures that the bees & other insects really enjoyed the HC figs too :-)!

In this sale you will receive 3 healthy cuttings about 8 to 9" in length.

You will have the option to choose between First Class mail or Flat Rate Priority via USPS.

If there is ever an issue with the plant material I send you, I will always do my genuine best to make it right.
