Greetings !!!

Up for auction is this fully acclimated rooted cutting of Figo Preto or simply Preto. It’s simply a must have for all serious fig collectors. Just like Genovese Nero but darker in color. The fruit checks all the boxes for: Rich, Berry & Jam! The skin is chewy and sweet. Ripens and is similar to Black Madeira and Black Tuscan.  For me they are all very similar, but Preto ripens in between Black Tuscan and Black Madeira.

My name is Dan Foster.   I’ve been growing figs since 2011 and it’s become a passion of mine that I hope you’ll find to be as rewarding as I have.   My goal when I began this obsession was to grow and taste as many varieties as I can to find the best tasting figs for my area.   This is still true today.

I’m in Zone 6B and I don’t try to grow them in the ground.   You can also find me on Facebook and Ourfigs fig forum. All of my figs should be assumed to have been exposed in some way to FMV Fig Mosaic Virus.  When young, figs will often show more severe symptoms, but most of the time many of them grow out of this as long as good growing and fertilizing practices are in place.

You will receive the exact plant that is photographed.  They are grown in a 3"x 8" Stuewe & Sons Tree-pot along with a professional growing mix.  They should have a very nice root system and should rebound from transplanting easily.  Once transplanted, I think it’s always a good idea to place the newly planted tree in a shadier location for a week just to make sure it can recover adequately to its new environment.   This is especially true when replanting in a southern location or when the temperatures are above 80.

My growing operation has been inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and I’m licensed to ship to all 50 States. Included with this inspection is a Certificate of Quarantine Compliance in accordance with the U.S. Domestic Japanese Beetle Harmonization Plan.  I will only ship inside the continental U.S.   Send me a message if you have any questions.  I usually ship using a box from 18x4x4 to a 24x4x4 box and can combine shipping as follows up to 4 figs.   I use USPS Priority shipping.   I try to ship out ‪Monday morning‬, although sometimes I have to wait ‪until Tuesday‬.  I don’t usually see messages from PayPal after auctions are won asking me to wait to ship. The faster your invoice is paid, the faster I can get your plants out. Combined shipping is available with multiple auctions being won through FigBid within the same day.  Thursday auctions ship out Saturday morning at the latest.

Shipping to California is not an issue with me us because of the certifications and inspections I've acquired.  You may be taking a risk buying from other growers who have not taken these steps.

Combined shipping:

1 Fig:   $15.00

2 Figs: $20.00

3 Figs: $25.00

4 Figs: $30.00

Thank you for your support and happy figging!!!!!
