This tree has very distinct and attractive ornamental leaves. The leaves alone provide clear identification for this variety. The fruit are medium in size with green to yellow skin color. The pulp is very light colored and fruits are reported to have a delicious melon flavor. Although my tree has grown well I have yet to get ripe fruit from my own tree. This fig tree originates from near Mt. Vesuvius on the west coast of Italy. Yes, this is the volcano that was responsible for the destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum in A.D. 79! Interestingly, this is the only active volcano on mainland Europe (according to livescience.com).

You will receive 2 very healthy cuttings about 8-9" in length.
