A new find in the summer of 2019 this fig had a bluish skin and a golden brown interior with a sweet brown sugar flavor. But then it set a huge breba crop this spring 2020 which was dry and inedible dark caprifigs. (picture no. 4) They shriveled and fell off in early June. It ripened a main crop starting in August that matured to a more black color in 2020. With more of a caramel flavor Likely due to the extra hot spring and summer. When some of my potted Blue Honey ripened fruit it tasted just like caramel candy. So when cultivated the results may be different than the original tree in the wild. It grows fast and roots very easy like a caprifig but has a very tasty main crop that looks like a common fig. Others without the wasp report that they got good fruit from their potted trees but I would consider it still to be experimental. Due to the caprifig breba and normal looking and tasting sweet main crop. This variety could very well be a edible caprifig. Since there was no wasp activity observed on the mother tree it is difficult to know for sure. Can sell to the 48 states. No international shipping please.
