Eve’s Black Cherry

I am offering a very well rooted tree of Eve’s Black Cherry. This is a delicious Adriatic type fig that has become a family favorite! It’s in contention for my favorite fig. Definitely the best performing fig of 2023 in my orchard. Delicious, prolific, and every fig ripened perfectly.

I am not 100% certain that this is common. I don’t know many growers growing this variety. I do grow Smyrna varieties and every year they drop many figs, this year about 80-90% of the figs from the Smyrnas dropped. But I’ve never seen, or heard from CA friends, a single Eve’s Black Cherry drop. That’s probably not sufficient proof, but that’s the limit of my observation.

I have a large fig collection and expect all my trees have been exposed to FMV. I am in CA but there are no reports of BFF in my city (Napa) and I have my small trees segregated from fruiting trees just as a precaution should my fortunes change. I’m keeping very close eyes on this pest and I will not take any risky chances regarding its spread.
